Welcome to the Trolley and Chips

The Trolley And Chips
(a traditional drinking song)

The semester is done and our vivas are past
Here's a health to the mistress all in a full glass
For she is a good woman and provides us with cheer
If it wasn't for her we could not have our beer

To the Trolley and Chips for the food and the ale
We'll raise up our glasses and drink without fail
Let us drink and be merry and loudly proclaim
That the Trolley and Chips shall always remain

Here's a health to the dancers, the lads and the maids
A-leaping and prancing, all so briskly like blades
To musicians and players who allure and entrance
A glass and our thanks for the entertainments

And the writers and the artists, we shall now salute
'Tis their dreams and imag'nings that keep us afloat
Their tools may be simple but their work does amaze
May they find health and wealth for the rest of their days

So fill up your glasses, let the bottle go 'round
For the sun soon shall rise, now the moon has gone down
Should we meet again, on the land or the sea
I shall always remember your kindness to me
